in Cutting tax
Hi there,
Last year I was out of work from April to September. I wasn't claiming any benefits during this period. Since September until now I've earned £10340.32 I've been taxed £1575.37, NI £853.93.
How can I find out if this is correct?
Can I work this out myself?
Apologies for the dumb questions but I'm completely ignorant. Understanding tax causes a brain meltdown for me.
Thanks,
The Peasant

Bit of rough working out and i make it that you have paid too much presuming you have a standared 522l tax code.
I use this http://www.listentotaxman.com/
Just contact your local tax office and they should send you a form to complete with your p60 figs.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Please don't ask HMRC for a form - you will end up in the slef assessment regime which you will never escape from.
Just send your P60 for 07/08 (which you will get soon) with a covering letter to your tax office telling them you did not work or claim prior to this job.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
