I wanna make my own jewellry

I've been given a set of jewellery pliers/tools and I want to have a go doing some bead work, but I don't know where the best place to buy cheap beads, wire, clasps, crimp beads and jump rings is. There's loads on eBay, but I don't know if they're cheap or reasonable quality.

Anyone recommend somewhere?????

I use ebay, or one of the many bead shops in London.

If you're starting out, buy cheap - get used to bending wire etc. You can buy decent fittings etc on ebay - if I'm making anything nice, I tend to buy sterling silver wire and hooks.

I started jewellery making classes in Sept, I use ebay quite a bit and the tutor recommended some sites she uses, be warned though its very addictive

I got some books out of the library for ideas and Bead is a bi-monthly magazine that is UK based.

I have bought off e-bay with mixed results, sometimes great value and good quality, but often i found it false economy with poor finishes and items often broke eneasily.
For findings and silver wire try Cooksongold - they'll even cut the wire for you

I find that brightlings beads are an excellent site if you don't mind importing from America. They have some really unusual stuff like the bali & hill tribe silver and are very fast with their postage usually receive it within 5 working days.
