Could some one advise me on my mortgage please.
My mortgage is fixed payment till August this year we were hoping to change the mortgage but due to my husband being diagnosed with cancer and not being able to work i am worried that we are not going to beable to change our mortgage and then not being able to pay the new payments after August.
Would appreciate any help, THANK YOU.

sadly your probably right
it will be unlikely that you will now get a competitive remortgage
you perhaps might be able to get a self cert mortgage and lie about your income ect, not that im suggesting you do that
you must start thinking about you will do.
can you afford the SVR rate you will go onto?
can family help?
depending on those answers you might need to set yourself up to sell the house0 -
if he is not working is he getting all the benefits he is entitled too - incapacity, disability living allowance etc x0

I would suggest he speaks to the MacMillian cancer trust, they are very helpful and is your mortgage not covered by insurance...for ill health or crtical illness?0

Are you working? if not can you get a job? if your mortgage is repayment then change it to interest only.0

Have you tried speaking to your existing mortgage company?
They may offer you a new deal and as they don't re-underwrite the loan, you have no need to lie about incomes etc.
If you say who your mortgage is with I'm sure someone on here will tell you if they will offer you a new deal.0 -
It may also be worth approaching your lender now, to explain the difficulties you will have in August - as far as a bank is concerned something is always better than nothing and they have a responsibility to do everything they can to work with you.0
