Hello - I did this overnight this week, thanks to Ryanair and 1p all-in flights, to which I added £2.50 Mr T vouchers, converted to £10 in Deals at a Paul Rankin place - very acceptable.
It's too late for you to do this now probably, but I mention it for the future.
(Although it might not be if you order them tonight, you'll have them Tues/Wed latest) Better yet, look on the Translink site for the best transport deals. After 10am, I paid £2.50 each day for all city buses. There are rail/bus links and variations(also available via Clubcard, which I'll do next time). I agree re: Ulster Folk Museum and Ulster Museum is good, too, set in the Botanic Gardens. Found PRONI staff in Balmoral Road wonderful re: helping me on first steps tracking forebears, although this is not your remit.
But I mention it in case this first visit triggers something else.
Also look for the excellent, very-well produced booklets on a circular stand as you go out towards the CS desk and buses, walking left as you leave. It's a pleasingly simple airport, too.
Have a lovely day then tell us what you recommend.

if its raining W5 in the Odyssey is an excellent venue for the kids, 2 minute drive in a taxi from the airport or walkable from city centre - it is walkable from the airport but I wouldn't recommend it - along a busy dual carriageway

is there a flexi bus or something goes from the airport past the odyssey?

Nope, there hasn't been for quite a while, since Translink re-organised the City Airport bus service, it now doesn't pass the Odyssey.

The only way to do this by public transport would be by train from Sydenham station to Bridge End station. Since that's only one stop and Sydenham is nowhere near the terminal building and Bridge End is nowhere near the Odyssey, you'd be almost as quick walking from the airport...

As a previous poster said, this is definitely not recommended - it's a very busy dual carriageway. It would be very cheap in a taxi from the door of the airport - I reckon about £5-6. Once you are finished there and if the weather allows it, walk across the footbridge over the Lagan, past the big fish, and you are only 5 mins from the new Victoria Centre.

  • That pic of the fish reminded me of a thread on here last year. It was about food places but check out posts 9 and 15 for some more tourist ideas. Enjoy your trip!

    Try this link too:

This website has useful information on many of the destinations reached by ferry. I've also found their ferry/eurotunnel prices to be very reasonable.
