Question about point of sale service

I thought at point of sale service you had to be made aware of any offers or bogof's available with the product you are purchasing. I went into my local tesco's in Culverhouse cross cardiff wales i bought myself a nintendo wii last saturday i was not made aware at the time that a free game was available at point of sale.

On enquirying this weeked i was first told it was subject to availability i found out it was in stock that day. I was then told that it had to be bought at point of sale due to a multibuy. I was told it was my fault i had not red the sign. with yellow red and black wow what a great way to advertise to the color blind.

I have since rang and have been fobbed off i asked for the manager of the store and was giving her contact. This has left me feeling quite angry towards tesco's and their customer service is their anything i can do?

Legally you do not have to be told of any special offers.

Tesco may chooseto honour the offer as a gesture of goodwill, but there is no obligation on them to do so.

Also... the checkout operator doesn't get told of any offers and nothing comes up on the screen, so it is up to the customer.

Ask them if they could get you one from another store that has some in stock. They might do that if you ask.
