I'm in the process or remortgaging and would appreciate any advice as to whether I should add the arrangement fee (£699) to the mortgage or pay it straight up front. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you add it to the mortgage you'll be paying interest on it for the life of the mortgage

Pay it up front if you can afford it. If you add it on you will be paying it and interest on it for the full term of the mortgage.0

I was also wondering this, surely you can add it to the mortgage, then repay it asap? (we can repay 10% per year)
Because we cannot really afford it now, but should be able to within a couple of months, if not one month. The interest lost on that amount over a couple of months in negligable0 -
I would, where possible with the t&c's of the product, add it and repay it back upon completion.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I always recommend adding it to the mortgage. Then if for whatever reason the mortgage does not go ahead then you have not handed over the cash.I am a Mortgage Adviser
