in Cutting tax
I left the French Foreign Legion last year after 22 years with a monthly pension paid into a French bank account. Im living at my parents address in the UK for the moment. Is this pension taxable in the UK ? (about 1200 euros a month). No one seems to know.

I don't know either, but you may find some useful information here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM74500.htmDebt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -
It all depends on where you are resident/domiciled. If your stay with your parents is temporary for a short time then having lived abroad for so long you may still be classed as non-resident.
It also depends on whether you have taxable income in the UK.
These are the notes which accompany a non-residence page for an income tax return they might help you determine your residency/domicile status.

BTW even if you had to declare the income in the UK you would only declare 90% of it and you would be given credit for any tax deducted by the French government under the double taxation agreement. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
