as its free is there a catch? i.e. .imited service or does it bring pop up ads?

the review pretty much covered everything, but to answer your questions:

No catch, not a limited service, no pop up ads. you can download the software for free from https://www.openoffice.org. I think its about 50mb and it covers the entire "office" suite of products.

Chipz, if you have broadband why not download open office, it'll not take long. Try it and if its not for you then buy MS office. I have them both and they are both very good. In future I'll not buy MS office as open office is just as good and free!

Chipz, if you don't have broadband I can burn you a copy and send it to you. Also I think several computer mags have openoffice on their cds.

Agreed.  Thats where i got my Office 2003 software from.  Works perfectly and came with all the right codes to getting it working etc.
