We have a hitachi dz-mv300e and basically the door won't open to eject the disc. We took it into jessops who said they'd have to send it away. If it is a mechanical fault any idea of the cost? They we're very helpful in advising us. Or could i get a small screwdriver and open the front?? Thanks in advance

Careful with that driver, has the power died? Use the charger to supply power and try play- fastforward/reverse- to release the head mech and operate the the door locking mech. Stop/eject the disc. Has the disc come away from the central hub - give it a little tap.

No luck i'm afraid. On the screen it says eject, the light is flashing to say it's ejecting but no go. You can hear an internal clicking like it's trying to eject:confused: Problem is i've got a new camcorder and i've got 2 years worth of discs from this one yet to record (which i was in the process of) before i get rid of it so don't want to spend a lot on repairing it. f3.

It is out of warranty and have been qouted £70 to sell it second hand. Jessops couldn't quote because they don't know the problem until it's sent away. Not sure what a sag is  . I'm very tempted to open it with a screwdriver as i've nothing to lose
