This may well be on the wrong page but can anyone advise please about the best way to arrange a will (me and hubby).
Recently lost my BIL very unexpectedly at age of 55 and it brings home what you already know - that this is a job I should have seen to long ago and need to get sorted out asap
We are in NE of Scotland so would have to comply with Scottish Law
Thanks
Katyk

It seems that in Scotland, solicitors tend to draw up and keep wills for people. (I'm an incomer, what do I know?!)
I have seen make-your-own packs in WHSmith that are designed for Scottish law.
Or if you can wait until November, might I suggest http://www.willaid.org.uk:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

We used a solicitor who had been recommended to us with no problems whatsoever.
Ask friends, colleagues, neighbours
Find someone local and don't put it off.
(Not meant to sound morbid but you know what I mean)
Just seen this - no idea what it is like but fairly cheap http://www.scottishwills.com/0 -
Where are you hun? My folks are in Dundee and recently had wills done by a firm they were very impressed with. If you're thereabouts I'll check with them who it was.
Make a list of important things to do today. At the top, put 'eat chocolate'. Now, you'll get at least one thing done today.

I went to my solicitor in Scotland and it cost approx £80. There are forms you can get on the will aid site (I think) and I filled them in prior to going. It was quick, painless and fairly cheap. I'm also in Dundee and could recommend my solicitor if you live near.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

(and appologies for thread hijack).
Katy, there's a NE Scotland Thread under the Scotland board on the local forums - maybe someone there can help too?
