Could anyone advise me on whether this is a good or average deal please? I really need to upgrade now and was wondering whether people think that there may be a better deal in September?

Vista is not due till at least the end of next year. If this operating system follows MS normal release, then it will take them at least another six months on top of this till they find the first big batch of security faults and release a service pack for them.

Not worth the wait at all.

Thanks. Guess I need to look up Windows Vista - but I can't wait six months that's for sure! Will wait a couple of weeks and see what Dell comes up with.

Not a six months wait, more like 18 months. It's not due for full release for another 12 months at least.

Around august 1st week i bought dimension 9100 with above specs with the following changes for £580 [Offers + £70 weekend off + free delivery + printer upgrade)

(printer had minor fault and dell sent me another printer, but did'nt pickedup faulty one)
