Anyone work a flexi fortnight?

I work for the council & our working day is 7.2 hours.
Someone at work was telling me that they do a flexi fortnight.
Instead of working 36 hours per week, you work 2 x 36 hours = 72 hours / 9 over 9 days = 8 hours per day.
So you have to work an extra .80 of a day (nearly 50 mins) but every two weeks you get a day off during the week.
I'm starting it soon. I sorted it out with my line manager on Friday.
Best thing is, it suits my job not to have a static day off per fortnight, because of finance date deadlines, meetings ect, so its best for my job if its changeable. Well really thats even better for me, as I can pick & choose & take it when it suits me & work.
Anyone else do it?
How do you find it?

My brother on an agency contract at Salford used to do 12 hour days so would do 3 days a week. Depends on the job really. His was HB application processing and not customer facing.0

I do a 9 day fortnight , wokrs for me as I get long weekends sometimes (do a rolling day off so first 2 weeks Monday , next 2 weeks Tuesday and so on , you end up with back to back Friday - Monday over a weekend
works for them as they get longer days out of my and if need be will move my day off for an appointment at home or if they really need me to be in on a particular dayEx forum ambassador

I and most other HGV drivers do that and more 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year. In our job, the average working week is 55hrs excluding breaks.
I said it tongue in cheek, my hubby is a cabbie:D
When I said to him about being able to work extra in a day & do 9 days instead of 10, he said how many hours a day? When I said 8 he went:rolleyes:    typical council:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
I used to work a 9-day fortnight when I was working for a Housing Association - everyone employed there did! It made for some very quiet Mondays and Fridays!
I really enjoyed it - you can catch up on all sorts of things. Hope you enjoy your new hours!
