What do you use this for?

I've invested in an IKEA "Idealisk" whisk set. Just 79p gets you not only a balloon whisk, but also the funny-looking one next to it ...

What's it for. OK, I know it's for whisking, but whisking what?
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

I think they are supposed to be used when you are trying to whisk a small volume like a single egg, where a balloon whisk would be too large and ineffective.

Its for making salad dressing i think. Nigella is a big fan... Also for getting the lumps out of gravy and sauces I think.

I use a free cappuchino frother from Bailey's lounge instead :)
