I want - an ikea catalogue

hi folks I am the hubby of little miss frugal and yes I work at IKea!!
1) the catalogue...we are shipping them to houses as I write! and I bet some of you have them already? It's slightly embarassing, but the suppliers are running late getting them into stores. I know that A HUGE AMOUNT of catalogues will arrive at the Nottingham store tues/weds..... AND we don't alienate pm customers..they are our most important! not sure if the same quantities are going to other stores or when. p.s. the catalgue is also available on the internet to brouse/print @ https://www.ikea.com
2) Do you visit Brent, Bristol or Wednesbury? well, if you want a bigger range then visit Brent, BUT I'm afraid to say that you will have a less pleasurable shoppping experience due to how busy it is. They finish their showroom rebuild in a months time. All 3 stores will offer bucket loads of different inspiration due to having seperate teams of decorators, so the choice is yours on that one. Wednesbury id easy to get to , but not sure about bristol as I have never been. check the opening times as mid afternoon(3-6), early sat morning(9-11), sat late (7-10pm) are probably the best times to go. also check for brousing on sunday morning as you can get there at 10am to create your "shopping list" and then order it as soon as they open at 11 am. this saves loads of time. PLEASE PLEASE go with an open mind and DON'T listen to all those people that slate queues, customer service, stock levels, self service etc. have a try and make up your own mind..I apologise now if you have a bad experiance though!!!!!i'm living in a parallel universe0 -

Last time I was at Brent in the evening and wanted a catalogue, I was told by the duty manager that they put a pallet load out in the morning and if they had gone by the evening there was nothing they could do about it. If I really wanted one, I would have to come back in a morning.
Funny way of showing that the customer is valued, but maybe I am missing something.0 -
shocking to be told that - if catalogues are accessible they should get you one! If they aren't i.e stored out of reach (some areas can only be accessed when the store is closed) it should be communicated a better way than in your experience - sorryi'm living in a parallel universe0

Decided on Bristol, and went today (took ages - roadworks all along M4  ). Anyway - liked the products and the prices - but where are the staff??? I found the layout of the store quite confusing, there were no catalogues available and as for loading the car.....aaarrgghh! I bought quite a lot of stuff, including some heavy boxes, and I was on my own. You can't take the trolley to the car - have to abandon the trolley in a loading area, fetch the car, drive round one-way carpark (praying that no other person has loaded your goods) find loading area and fight past all the other abandoned trolleys to find your own. No staff on hand to help, either. Left feeling very hot and bothered. It may be some time before I want to repeat that experience........
If I could change one thing about the shopping at IKEA experience, it would be to be able to take your trolley of goods to the car, like at any supermarket or any other DIY type superstore come to that.[0 -
The store I usually visit (Warrington) used to have that same system - although they had 'trolley lockers' you could stick a trolley in for safe keeping while you went to fetch the car. I absolutely hated this, and was a reason I only ever used to get stuff I was capable of carrying. However, went up there last weekend and noticed that they have got rid of the stuff preventing you from taking your trolley out, and you can now easily load up the car direct from the trolley. I would hope that other stores will follow this example soon too - it must have been losing them a small fortune.0

That's good! Does anybody know where else doesn't have the restrictions on taking goods out to the car on the trolleys, by any chance? Hope it isn't just Warrington! Would like to hear about Birmingham or Brent Park in particular.....[0

Can't say this for sure - but I have a sneaky feeling Leeds doesn't have restrictions either. I have never actually bought from there, only browsed, but they have a multi-storey car park and lifts, and I don't recall seeing anything that would stop a trolley. Those are the only 2 stores I've been to in the last few years though, so can't help with the others :-(0

Thank you, TheChillPill! Anybody else have any idea about the other branches, please?[0

Sorry, but Leeds have bollards outside the entrance to stop you taking trolleys out...:(The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0
