Remortgage

Hi all, will keep it simple, House worth approx £120,000, mortgage balance £32,000. hubby self employed last 11 months, im part time, got loads of shitey amounts of debt totalling approx £20k to £30k, credit rating is poor over last 18 months, behind with cc payments, but so far no ccjs or defaults yet! mortgage with Bank Of Scotland so emailed an enquiry about adding to mortgage and within 10 mins got phone call from Crystal Clear Home Loans saying our details have been passed to them, never heard of them are they like First Plus etc? Why did BOS refer, is it because hubby will need self cert or is it because we have bad credit scores. Horrible as we have quite a bit of equity and after paying off all our debts we still will have equity left? I know people shouldnt move unsecured debt to secured but these credit cards and loans are crippling, and we cant switch to 0% anymore (mind you who can now?) just hoping someone will say steer clear of these firms or "thats your last choice".

I am not sure what relationship exists between BOS and CCHL but you should ask them where they got the details from. If it is BOS then ring them and ask them if this is the case. It could be an employee passing your details across to a mate when they have realised that BOS wont be able to help.

I googled this company yesterday and they specialise in adverse mortgages from what I could see. I cannot see BOS linking to these so I am suspicious.

I would speak to a broker that has access to all of the lenders that will accept business from a broker. If it can be done, they will do it as they will have access to the same lenders.

Depending on what you OH net profit is and your income will depend on what you can borrow. If you are tied into BOS then it may be that you need to consider a secure loan but the costings would need working out.
