I was wanting to buy my daughters one of 'those' memory cards that i can use to back up their games as they are always loosing them and they are just too expensive to replace!!
I know i have seen threads on here before about a memory card that does just this but they appear to have vanished
I would very much appreciate your help on this very helpful money saving gadget-have you got one, whats it like, cheapest and most reliable place to buy ect?
Oh,also would i be able to buy just one gadget and 2 memory cards for both girld instead of having to double everything?
Very cryptic,i know, but i know feeling run quite high on this little device and dont want to be shouted at!!!!!!:o
thanks guys!Laura.

You mean something like this

looks like astandard SD memory card, you can get those from most anywhere, Jessops, Amazon, Play so shop around, Jessops will probably help you choose the right one if you go in the shop and ask.0 -
We have an R4 card, from DealExreme in Hong Kong. There is now R6 available, which is presumably the latest model. The others on the market include: M3 Simply, M3 Real. I'm no expert, and some people say that a particular one is much better than the other, but AFAIK they are essentially similar products - a DS 'cart' which looks like an ordinary DSlite game except it has a slot for a micro SD card. You then drag games or music onto the micro SD card, a 2gb card holds approx 30 games I think, and choose which game you want from the menu which appears on the DS lite. The illegal bit is if you download copyrighted games. You will need to buy 2 if the kids want to play on separate DsLites at the same time, but only one with separate micro sd cards if they are prepared to share. Hope that helps, I too do not wish to be shouted at!0

I bought this DSTT a couple of weeks back - its the same as the others and it works well. Bonus from here was that it did arrive the next day and pretty good value too. As the other poster mentioned - you also need a decent size SD card

You can't back the games up yourself, you have to download them just to make you aware. So unless you know where to download these (illegally) it won't be a worthwhile investment!0

thanks guys,i know i cant do the games myself stubert.....im being intentionally vague, lol,as i dont want to upset anyone on this forum!! Thats good to know that i will need one each for the girls-sharing isnt in their strong point!!!

For info - dealextreme prices are in US dollars, which are then converted into GBP at checkout. In the past they have taken 7-10 days for delivery. I ordered an R6 yesterday for my other son, and it came to just over £16 (think it was $33). I ordered the micro sd 2gb from play.com for £6.99.0

It comes with a micro sd card reader, which plugs into a usb port. With the R4 card, I found the easiest way to get started was to search for 'R4' on YouTube - there is a choice of several videos where people take you through step-by-step, a real idiot's guide, even I had no probs!
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=stCp1bXbxdY is one of them.
If you are thinking of getting a R6 card, the only thing I would say is that it seems to be brand new, I couldn't find any reviews at all for it, so I really don't know what it's like, I am assuming it's as good as the R4.0 -
Hi happymummy247, I saw these at the Ideal Home show last week looked at the box and put it back, not sure what it did.. after reading your request I took myself to the local PC show to investigate further and finding several stall holders selling these products. Spoke to a vendor and indeed these 'thingys' work. Exchanging £25 for a unit and a 2Gb micro card I ventured home to play with this new toy, and can now confirm these work fine <cough> PM me for more.0
