    Spud - my dad was just like yours, with every car a new Haynes manual appeared. unless of course he could get one second hand... my mum went to buy a pram in the early 70s (wee bro) and my dad nearly fainted when they told them the price and announced he could get three cars for that!

    He had planned to rebuild a car with me, when I was 17. We were going to do up an old Beetle but he died when I was 16. It would have been great to do :o
    Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:

    Aww thanks guys.

    It's something I'd still love to do, but dont have any knowledge at all about cars.

    I'd probably choose a VW campervan nowadays, instead of the Beetle. More room for the dog ;)
