I have been contributing to my company pension scheme for just over two years. I pay £150 and my employer matchback this with another £150 = £300 p/m in total. This is a money purchase scheme. I think dunstonh already answered it in post #6.

I would guess it is of more benefit to be able to do that if the pension is Defined Benefit.
