Rant over car and OR

Hi all,
I is back
Need to vent over my OR - warning to newbies who don't know my story - I have an unusually difficult and vindictive OR who is trying to take my car despite it not being worth anything (list price in good order £180. Mine is NOT in good order, being as it has the driver's door hanging off, more rusty dents than a denty thing and water literally flooding the thing whenever it rains. Plus no radio, or back seats. A very bad UV fading damage to the exterior paint....and a crushed wing mirror...need I go on? It's a heap, but it's my heap
And more importantly, I can't get to work without it - the OR is proposing a three hour journey to work and back each day, which I can't do if I have to stay at school after last bell which I have to do once a week at least and can't walk more than a few yards let along the miles he wants me to, with the weight of books I have to take home to mark...grr).
OK - explanation over - OR now wants £600 for the car and plates. And if I don't want to buy the plates back I have to pay £105 to transfer them over to him - ROLF, LOL, wiping tears of laughter from my eyes - sorry, but where do I have the money to pay for the transfer of these plates? I'm a BR - remember??!! ARGH!!
So I've offered £200 on the basis of the valuations I've had on the plates and the fact that that's 6 months selling time, whereas this is definate and here and now. And it doesn't include anything for the car because it's not worth anything and I Need It (which he *still* doesn't accept). So am still siting and not budging. I'm being as co-operative as I can, but that doesn't mean being a walk over and being pushed around so he can feel like he has a big willy. (Sorry to get crude, but really feel this is what this is all about).
Just hope that if it goes above his head, my earnings/SoA doesn't get called into question and I get an IPA slapped on me, as we are just surviving until Sept 1st when I get AD and can earn some more money working several jobs so we can afford things like the dentist, hair dresser and some desperately needed shoes (not that the dentist isn't desperate - don't get too close, we pong!).
Sorry for the rant, but it is doing my head in still grrrr. Nasty little man.

Hi Pixie and welcome back, though i wish it was under better circumstances.
I actually used you as an example to someone the other week when they asked about cars. It must be so annoying when theres so much inconsistancy between ORs. Another time, another place, another OR and you'd have had non of this.
I hope you have the energy to keep up the fight though.
Is this your OR?
If so then i've found his address, so we can go round and ring his doorbell before running away :rolleyes:The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
LOL, yes please - I think it is.
Nah, I understand why the guy is mad at me (god I wish I wasn't so damn nice lol), but still, I just wish he was professional about things.
I don't really have an option but to sit it out against him - we don't have any money, not just any to spare, and what we have coming in (and going out again) I don't have access to as it's in my partners Bank Account, I no longer have any, and that's fine with me. I am starting my rehabilitation with money, but it will take a while and until I totally trust myself so that money isn't an issue I won't allow myself a bank account.
So he can go swing (ner ner ner - that's me poking my tongue out by the way)

Hi Pixie.
Not sure what to suggest apart from stick to your guns as the others have said.
I remember you/we tried to work out a way to get some reasonable responses from your examiner, but it was like
Nice to see you back here though.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

My only worry is it never gets resolved lol - I seem to say 'no' and the OR just ignores me and it gets forgotten about for a few months. Sigh.
Thanks for the welcome back - will try and stick around this time and be more helpful to othersDo not feed the trolls please.0 -
I had to post my support - besides, my WeeMee has the same top!
I really cannot believe how different OR's are. I will not mention about my car here as it would upset you I think! But I just cannot get over how each OR interprets the guidelines differently when they are the same damn guidelines! But I suppose that therein lies the problem, they are guidelines and not rules.
You stick to your guns. As you said, he is an OR with a small winkle. You have MSE POWER!!0 -
LOL don't worry Skylight about upsetting me - I know I have a bum deal with OR's when it comes to the car (well, to be totally and strictly correct, OR's case worker
) but on the other hand, I haven't had it nearly as hard as some others with my SOA (although how he could have taken anything away when I earn eg £1200 a month and my rent is eg £1200 is anyone's guess.....).
Think positive it name of the game - this is the very least of my troubles as what's he gonna do - come down and kneecap me? That's what our stalker nutter is proposing, so it kinda puts things into perspective
Even if there were rules, I guess they can still be interpreted - nothing is 100% I guess and therefore there will never be a perfect system. Such is life. As you say, I have MSE and more importantly Mr Pixie powerDo not feed the trolls please.0 -
Morning Pixie, I think you have a flippin' !!!! of an 'OR's case worker' and you are being very patient with him. I take it you have tried talking to his boss about it all
You stick to your guns girl. Though I am sure it must be quite stressful.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
