I have a gazebo over my whirly too. Even if it throws it down only the outer items get a wee splash!

I am very tempted to get one of these for when my baby arrives

Initial outlay is not very MS, but only costs 3p/hr to run and I can imagine it will come in handy for drying the hundreds of babygrows that baba will get through !!

Never dried clothes outside, too much hassle/Bird poo/dirt flying about. Never had any damp/humidity problems.
Pleas dont quote the old fashioned "Theve got to air" old wives tale.

hiya ive had my tumble dryer on once since begining of july and had no heating on since march. The washing (for 5) has been done and either played the merry dance of dragging it in when showers stopped and putting back out when sunny. Ive got one ceiling airer 2 concertina airers and 2 raidiator airers i got from the pound shop. I open the windows im all room coz itys warm here just soggy outside. I have one lil one in nappies to contend with too and its getting these dry my biggest task. I also have 4 pairs of curtains i need to get washed and dried as currently preparing for winter.
I tend to keep it to one load a day (have a large load washer) and then it usually dries on airers overnight however i feel theres stuff everywhere and it gets on my nerves lol.

forgot to say i have 2 clip airers for knickers and socks that hang off my ceiling airer as these bits can take up a lot of room.

I've got 2 messy boys, no pets (although if I did they wouldn't be the type to wear clothes :p, lol), so I tend to do a wash everyday. We've got a clothes horse but it doesn't hold much so things tend to get draped over the doors and radiators. It's a bit of a struggle at the moment so I've been wanting a TD, but don't have anywhere to put one :(. I'm now going to look into getting a dri buddi (thanks Jpscloud :)) as it looks like the perfect solution for those of us without the extra space needed for a TD.

we only ever wash on the economy setting, which spins at 800RPM even though machine is 1400 spin. So if the weather is bad and we know we'll be drying indoors on the clothes horse, I'll put the washing through an extra spin cycle at 1400. Much cheaper than a TD, and washing comes out much, much drier.

Has anyone ever dried their clothes in a greenhouse? Just wondering... :-)

Yes, it works a treat. I had one of these plastic ones that I wasn't using on the allotment so I put it up in the garden, punched a few more holes in the plastic for ventilation and strung up a couple of lines plus put an airer inside. It lasted three years before it fell to bits. Might be worth looking out for a cheap one in the sales...garden equipment always gets reduced at the end of summer. One tip though is to put guylines on it, like a tent. They don't do well in high winds.

A friend of mine has this very sturdy article in her garden and it's very good. Not exactly a money saving option but if you were handy you could perhaps build something similar?

Tumble dry all the time c.b.a to be honest putting washing out, 1, we have so many seagulls here in devon and being the dearest water rates it cost too much to rewash 2, makes the garden look untidy, 3 saves on ironing, 4, makes the clothes lovely and soft. my tumble is a miele and uses very little leccy so i use it life is to short for pegging washing out. :)
