Chemist Products - Hiding the Cheapest

Just a heads up at what is happening at my local Pharmacy (Chemists).
Which has just been taken over by the the Co-op.
June has to have Cocodamol (painkillers) daily so I drop into my local Chemist
every couple of weeks or so to buy her these tablets.
Although we are over 60 and get free prescriptions she prefers the branded Cocodamol
rather than the prescribed painkillers.
They only cost £1.19 a packet and its not too expensive.
I asked for a packet of the usual and was informed they only had a packet of the
Dispersable Cocodamol at £2.99.
When I asked a couple of questions as to "are there any of the £1.19 tablets" the
assistant went to the pharmacist and he came out with a key, unlocked a nearby
glass cabinet and there right at the back were the tablets I had requested.
I did not say anything - but I suggest you forward this email on to your friends as there
is quite a cost difference (£1.80) - times this by how many prospective buyers and the
profit is much higher than may be first thought.
Of course it could be just a coincidence - but whenever I find myself putting my hand in
my pocket even deeper than I need to, I look into things even deeper than I would have.

Pharmacies are businesses, they do not have to stock any particular remedies. If I was dissatisfied I would vote with my feet. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

I simply found it irratating that the shop assistant had no idea that there
was a cheaper product available on the premises and therefore poor old
Joe Public was the ultimate looser (or could have been)0 -
Surely the ultimate loser is someone that chooses to pay for something that they already get on prescription?Gone ... or have I?0

I use co-codamol regularly,I pay £1.29 for 32 at Asda,I was shocked to be charged £1.99 at Boots for the same pills.0
