Came across this tonight. Please take a look and see what you think. The fact that it talks abou needing to purchase some equipment and also pay training fees does make me wonder? Please let me know your thoughts

Somehow I don't think so.0

I'd say FORGET IT. Not only are they asking you to pay for their 'courses' (and having done call centre work, I can state for certain we all learnt more from actually doing the job, and next to nothing from the training), but if you don't stay in the job for long, you've wasted your money. Whatever happened to firms training you? Sounds as if you would not actually be a direct employee of BG, but that they have contracted out the service.
Secondly, the pay is per call, with target earnings of £10-12. That means you will be under pressure to get through calls as quickly as possible, with an average of 6-8 minutes per call. That may not always be possible, so chances are your average earnings will be a lot less.0 -

I second that, when I did Call Centre work, you learn next to nothing in training that's still useful when you get onto the floor and taking live calls.0 -
Hello there
Just to say I work in a BGS call centre and they used to offer work from home positions and we have asked recently if it was something they would bring back in and were told no.
Therefore is this genuine? Also I did 3 weeks full time training when I started and its basically useless as all calls are different and only learn when on the phones. Working at home by yourself who would you ask for help?1 -
I'd say it's a fake, the font they've used for "British Gas" is wrong, it's not heavy enough and the letter spacing is way out, large companies like BS have strict marketing/design guidelines which any company using their name/logo would have to stick to0

Wrong.
This job advert is 100% genuine.
The BG font is 'wrong' because that's how the job site has typed it in.
They've not used the standard JPG image, rather they've used text.
This job is also on jobserve.
http://www.jobserve.com/W14FDADC49DBDA974.jobIt's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Thanks smartie1976, but I would still like more information.
I someone paid for the training, and qualified to apply who would they be applying to? This company or BG?
Or to put it another way, who will decide if you get the job or not?0
