Endowments

HI all

can any one tell how long it would take for the FOS to investigate a Mis-sold policy.i have been waiting 20 mounths just getting letters saying we are still investigating.im getting a bit cheesed with them now.
Who are the FSA answerable to ?
I thought about wrighting to my MP, has any one had any experiance ?

    The FSA doesn't deal with misselling.

    You need to

    a) Complain to whoever sold you the policy and
    b)if the complaint is rejected, take it on the Financial Ombudsman service (FOS) within 6 months.

    If you are in fact dealing with the FOS, be aware they have had a massive number of endowment complaints and thus there can be delays.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)

    The FSA do not handle complaints and do not investigate endomwent complaints at consumer level.

    It sounds like you have your initials mixed up. Is it the IFA, insurance company, solicitor, accountant, FOS or FSCS.

    I had complained with the standard letter of this web site
    the company was sold and the new company had no record and denied responsibilty

    I've seen cases that have been with FOS for maybe 3 years or more (I work at an insurer). This would be more complex cases that have been referred for a final decision from an Ombudsman. If there's some dispute over liability that would probably add to the complexity..
