Hi
Has anyone had any experience offering full and final settlements? Just wondering as am planning to remortgage, I owe them approx 5k but DMP person send she thought (it wasn't her dept) that they usually insist on full payment.
Just wondered if anyone knew?
Regards
Pippa

I'm also trying to get them to accept a F&F settlement. I've offered 35% in a letter (which they ignored). I then had a letter after a few weeks (and bearing in mind in the meantime, I CCAed them and they don't have a valid CCA) offering me a settlement of about 90% of the total. I phoned them to try and barter but got an Indian Call Centre employee who was useless and didn't even know what a consumer credit agreement was! He was programmed to only accept the 90% offered in their letter so I said 'oh well I guess you'll get nothing as you have no CCA then'
I figure they are up for negotiation but by letter not by phone; I'm not in a position to up my monthly payments on my DMP but I do have a one-off lump sum to split between creditors. I'm biding my time with them; they are getting no more payments on the DMP due to the dispute with the CCA so I think they'll see reason eventually.
I would start low and be prepared to negotiate if I were you... HTH0 -
They accepted 50% off me although this was bout 6 years ago so their policy may have changed now.
