There was a recipe on here a while back where someone suggested mixing an equal quantity of 'made up' stuffing with cooked red lentils, to make veggie burgers. I tried it and it was surprisingly tasty, but you do need to season well (and I'd go slightly less than half on the lentils, otherwise they go a bit bland.0

Hi,
I make paxo (well tesco's own really) up according to pack and mix with sausage meat and a dollop of tomato puree. Line a loaf tin with baking paper, add mixture and stick in oven 180c for just over an hour. I drain as much fat off as I can then let it cool a bit before slicing. We have it like a meatloaf for dinner. YUm Yum!!!0 -
How about tuna croquettes - similar to making fishcakes, but you don't need any potatoes as you just make up a thick bechamel, chill it, then form it into sausages that you crumb and fry:

Buffy_the_Vampire_Bat wrote: »Tuna pasta bake - I use cooked pasta, tinned tuna, tin of low fat condensed mushroom soup (pour some water about 1/4 can worth in, swish around and then add to tuna pasta mix), some chilli flakes (but that's just my personal preference) and some dried herbs. Mix together, bung in dish and sprinkle some grated cheddar and whack in oven. Cook until cheese is brown and slurpy
Sometimes I add chopped fresh mushrooms, or some frozen peas, or tinned sweetcorn (I guess you could add all three to stretch the dish even further)
Thanks Buffy the vampire bat you have solved my problem of what to do for dinner tonight, it sounds really tasty :T :T

I know this is probably Very Wrong - but I add a spoonful or two of dry stuffing mix to my gravy granules before adding the hot water.
Instant Sage and Onion gravy - for chicken, pork or just veg!
(I know this is off topic a bit but a spoonful of horseradish or mustard etc stirred into gravy is also a v quick and easy way to liven it up a bit!)

On Mondays, my Dad used to mix left over roast meat (minced) with equal quantities of mash and paxo. He would shape into cakes and fry. Mega filling...

i would happily mix tuna, mashed potato and paxo together and eat it just like that though the rest of the family would not so i would then make theres into more of a burger shape dust in flour and just fry the outside until goldenStill TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

Would he make the paxo up or add it dry?
