After entering on line competitions for well over 9 years, and having precious little success, I want to try and find out why.

I think we've excluded the remoteness of my address being a reason, but I do still suspect I might be picked and then someone notices that the postcode has a surcharge levied on it. (eg Halford's delivery goes from £4.99 to £18.99 for my postcode!)

But as my surname is right at the end of the alphabet, could that be it too?

Some people seem to win all the time, and others not a sniff.

So how are the winners picked that favour some people and exclude others?

Hi Belnahua. How many competitions do you normally enter per month?
2022 wins include.... £1,000 cheque £150 ASDA gift card £250 Impericon gift voucher £100 cheque £100 of plant bulbs £100 Bower Collective voucher
  • I received a WEM this week saying I've won a voucher. They asked for my address and have sent me the t&cs and a form to sign and return before they'll send out the voucher.

I was stunned to read some of the (4 1/2 A4 pages in quite small print) terms. For example...

My general state of health must be good and I can't have any medical condition that could be adversely affected by strenuous exercise.

I must ensure my own health and safety. Any behaviour, conduct by me which they consider to pose any medical, security or safety risk will lead to my disqualification.

I must agree not to carry on my person, or to purchase or consume during the comp any illegal substances. Alcohol comsumption will only be allowed with their express consent.

I have to confirm I am not taking any medication at present and will not during the comp.

I must not have any criminal convictions or a criminal record.

I am not allowed to have ever worked for any radio station or media organisation.

I am not allowed to publicise my involvement in the comp or tell anyone I've won without their prior concent (oops failed that one when I posted in the I won section of this forum).

Now, is it just me, or is this taking it a bit too far? Obviously if I refuse to sign the form, I don't get my prize (worth £75). This is a major media company, probably with big, fat lawyers. It's also a weekly entry comp, posted on this site.

    Hmmmm, principles or money...

Approx 500 a month. Most I get from ThePrizeFinder. There's one user who has won 2 holidays in a short period of time...

Boots but it's not from them, it's from another company who are just giving those as prizes.

If the prize were bungee jumping or something I could understand.

Maybe it's a standard thing they send that covers all their prizes?

I've won 2 of those paintball comps now, but have hesitated before adding them to my total, because as I feel that as they are a scammy thing price wise, I would be a bit naughty doing so. What do you think I should do? icon5.gif:confused:
