Wokkies posted a post and then deleted it - she has coined a new phrase: 'To do an Al Mac'. The new challenge of the second quarter of 2008, initiated by wokkies because she isn't winning enough, is to quote Al Mac wherever you see him, so that he can't delete, in case he thinks we are idiots.

Yes fluffynit thats the one except mine was with Now magazine. Yes I still have the letter it quotes "We are delighted to inform you that you are the lucky winner of our competition. As such, you have won a wonderfully romantic Moulin Rouge break to Paris for two"

I would re-contact the people you contacted before in a written letter and state that you have the original letter put a copy of siad letter in, and you are seeking FULL compensation on not being awarded your prize i.e £2,000.
Say if you have not heard from them in 14 days confirming this then you will take the matter further.

There is a site that deals with things like this, I'm afraid I do not have the details, hopefully someone will come along who has the url to the site.

Search for some posts by Black Saturn. If I remember correctly she had a similar thing a few years ago and they even sent her the tickets (!!) to be told they had made a mistake. She complained to the correct "board" and won.

But Black Saturn has thousands of posts and it was a while ago so you may be a while searching!

I'd push them for it if I were you Greenqueen. I think they should at least find you something of equivalent value. Check the T&Cs again, get onto the regulator and if that doesn't work it won't hurt to get a legal opinion. Their offer of vouchers falls well short if you ask me.

This is what I would do.

I'd follow this advice but, rather than saying that you will take things further, say that you will make a complaint to the Institute of Sales Promotion.
