do you firefox users keep IE on your comp? & also how do I get MSN messenger to open in firefox
I can give an answer to the first, but not the second of your questions.;)
I was advised - not sure where from now - to keep IE when I first got hold of Firefox a year ago, along with my first PC (after 4 Macs) and Vista (don't get me started on that!), because the OS uses it for key operations at times. Or something. Oh, and I have used it for entering a comp I couldn't access via Firefox.

Another question, I can't seem to copy and paste images any more
How do I do that now?

The comps ending thread are stickied 1 at a time to the top of the forum a few days before the end, others are probably in Game Over now, but you could search for thread title "competitions ending". Not sure who is organising them though
Firefox question - does it have its own form filler?, cause it seems to be able to remember passwords and that, if it has a form filler, I could ditch IE & Roboform (when I get used to Firefox that is)
Also can the refresh button be moved over to the right hand side?
Autofill is good in Firefox, but I still tend to use Roboform as my first step in form filling - it tends to be more successful and intelligent.

Well, I got it last April, and I was a Mac user before that, but my partner's parents' companies (!) IT bloke said he wouldn't touch it for a while, but I needed a computer, and they all came with this OS, so... well, I had many a day of tearful frustration with one thing or another. I spent ages on forums ironing out (very large) rough spots.
That said, we're almost a year on from then, and I have sorted a lot of things out.
I suppose my advice would be that if you have the discs for the previous OS, and you come across probs, use them. You may not need to, though, hjb123, as a lot of updates have gone through the system since last April.
I only have one conflict left to solve, and that is waiting for the software developers of that particular free prog to come up with an update.
You may have picked up that I am very anti McAfee, as that caused me a whole shed load of probs. I picked stuff up from this site, and have been so happy ever since I ditched that load of smelly stuff.
It would still be worth going through the forums if anything comes up as a problem for you.
When I say forums, I don't - mostly - mean the MSE ones!
The security in Vista is a shock for PC users, from what I understand - it can seem overly paranoid - but given the risk to PCs over Macs that may be understandable.
I wasn't completely new to non Mac computers - I'd spent a year before relying on my partner's laptop, mostly due to living in Oz.
Anyway, HTH!:DAl Mac Appreciation Society No. 188
