I just rung the help desk at betfair and spoke with a very nice lady who explained to me that unfortunately a couple of the horses I bet on with my £25 were unmatched and lapsed - not that I have ANY idea what that means, but anyway because of this unmatched and lapsed, I effectively did not have a full £25 punt (even though I spent £25 +£2 to prove im well over 18!!!) and so because it says in the terms and conditions that the bets have to be matched bets (Id laugh if I wasnt ready to cry lol), I dont get my £25 back
So if your waiting for your refunds just checked everything was matched and not flipping lapsed lol......now i spose quidco will say i didnt do anything....

Bet it on something else instead and when that is matched you get your money back that way

Many thanks to all who helped me place my bets on betfair. I picked the 1st, 2nd and 4th placed horses and was also credited the £25. This has now been transferred from my betfair account and should reach my bank account within 3-5 days.I have not checked the quidco site yet to see what happened there, but will do so now. The money will help with bills that I was not sure how to pay. Once again thanks to all here and congrats to those who won and commiserations to those who lost out.

I signed up and deposited £25. Placed 5 bets of £5 on different horses. I also sent a scanned copy of my passport as it asked for age verification. Then received an e-mail saying everything is ok. Now after the race the £25 has been credited back to my account however it says my account is suspended. I have rung them twice and now received an e-mail saying they are investigating my activity! I cannot withdraw my £25 while this is ongoing. Ridiculous!
i am in the same situation...
have never had a betfair acccount before, only opened 1 account, deposited 25 and got 25 credited, had a win on national, account SUSPENDED! sent emails and called on phone when they said it needed verifying and sent them all documents 3 times, NOW they say they are looking at my account activity!
i wanted to bet my winnings from the national on the Amir Khan fight that same night... as soon as my account is active again i will take my money and close it... they are useless
  • Have found a drawback with the plan ! When I joined betfair I had to give them a £2 deposit with my credit card (co-op visa gold) to prove I was over 18 which I did - it now transpires that the co-op have charged me £3 on top of the £2 and despite me asking nicely wont waive it !

    Very true

I wonder how long it will take for Quidco to validate.

Am so upset with Quidco

I went to the Betfair link from and email they sent me on the Friday advising that if I opened a Betfair account I would receive £50 cashback. When clicking the link I go straight into my account (always logged into Quidco) and clicked through the Betfair. Betfair have confirmed today that I linked to them from the Quidco site as the free £25 bet code was entered automatically but Quidco are still insisting that I wasn't logged in and won't pay out.

Has anyone else had this problem?????
  • If you used a visa card, there was no need to pay the £2 validation fee, unfortunately there was a delay with the verification system and a lot of people were caught out by this. When it asked me for the fee (I used my visa card), I phoned Betfair immediately quering it, and was told that I was quick off the mark and that I should wait a couple of minutes and the notice would go away which it did. Only people using solo and vectron needed this additional verfication.
