in Cutting tax
Hi
I have been supplementing my income by selling tickets via ebay to concerts etc. I appreciate that some people feel this activity is not moral however it is not illegal.
I have registered with the tax office and have been paying self employed stamps.
I have kept spreadsheets of income/expenditure and receipts. I now want to see an accountant to formalise my spreadsheets in preparation for submission of tax returns when due. Given my line of income is there any reason why an accountant wouldn’t represent me?
thanks

Not really.
However you business is very simply, tickets in / tickets out and a few expenses listing fees, internet, postage etc. You could probably do your own accounts based on a few excel spreadsheets. Unless you are selling several thousand pounds worth of tickets a year i doubt the cost of an accountant would be recoped. However you would be sure your self assessment is correct.0 -
Even unlawful activity is taxable , eg prostitution, so you will have no probs getting someone to act for you (assuming what you do is unlawful, which I doubt).£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
