But it's never been her house, has it? It has been in husband's sole name all this time. She only has rights to it - as has been pointed out by Bossyboots - in respect of her rights under the matrimonial rules.
It's worth pointing out that - although a lot of people are very worried about this, it's still only a minority of people who end their lives in full-time residential care. Why worry about something that may never happen?
