Help please!

Hi,

I have been unemployed since November last year, and have just about survived till now, but I have a bank loan and several Direct Debits that I wont be able to pay this month.... one of which is for a home learning course, covering many stages of the qualification, I have not been able to do the course for about 6 months, and they have just informed me that even if I fail the first stage, and therefore cannot move up to the next stage, I will still have to pay for the whole course! the direct debit is with a Financial service separate from the college.
Surely there must be a way to cancel the contract or some get out clause? I would appreciate any help you can give.

Thank you

Hi, write to them copying in your college (make sure you put CC underneath the signature of your letter and send a copy to your college/ lecturer with a covering letter explianing) and explian your situation.

Give them 2 weeks then chase it up. If need be, ask the college on your covering letter to confirm your sickness and see what happens.

This is only advice for the first step and someone else on here might be able to help you further. I have been in similar situaitons and it has worked as a temporary measure until I could get mysefl straight.

you could try and ring CAB as they provide help with education services too!

good luck and hope this helps you for the time being.
