i'm a big fan of american apparel as they don't use sweatshop labour - all their clothes are made on site at one factory in LA, nothing is outsourced, and they seem to be very passionate about their worker's rights (you can read about their ethics on the US website). they make top quality basics in a huge range of colours and styles.

sign up to their newsletter and get 10% off, complete a survery and they'll extend it to 15%. this is a particularly good offer if you're thinking of buying a few items. they don't bombard your inbox with messages, but will email if a store opens near you and they occasionally have newsletter only special offers. i have my fingers crossed for the liverpool store opening soon as i simply can't decide which t-shirts i want to buy!

Thanks for this tip - I am also a fan of American Apparel and I have found their t-shirts are good quality so will definitely be using the 10% discount.

no problem i know what you mean about pricing sometimes it's great value and sometimes it seems a bit steep! i reason with myself it's worth it for buying ethically!
remember when you get the email confirming your sign up follow the link to the survey, it's very quick and you bump up your discount to 15%
