Barclaycard Loans Do Not Use

  • please remember that typical apr does not mean you'll gt it. other banks and c.cards companie work the same way.

ppi is always optional and does not affect your application in any way (e.g. whether you're accepted or your apr)

your apr is based on your score and every bank uses their own scoring card plus information from credit agencies.

try and go to another provider and see if you can get the rate you want. no reason to moan.

    that is the theory Robert.
In practice your sales guys put pressure on by giving the impression that the application will be affected if ppi is not taken. In fact, many are told that they will not get the loan unless this rediculous cover is taken out.

It is about time the lenders decided to do the right thing.
Isnt it called Treating the Client Fairly?
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

if you believe that they put pressure on you then say no.
ppi is always optional and if a seller says it isn't than he's breaching fsa rules.

Then lenders and brokers are breaching the FSA rules on a daily basis. You only have to read the numerous threads on this site to know that is true.

I had a similar issue applied for the loan at 6.8% have a perfect credit rating, then got a letter saying sorry but go away. Was originally pretty shocked but having read this thread was pretty relieved they didn't come back and offer 10%+ APR.

Anyway went through my Bank First Direct did everything on-line in a couple of minutes got the quoted rate at 7.9% plus £50 for taking out the loan and the money went straight in to my First Direct Account at the end of the application process even. So means I can pay off my bills and save a couple of hundred interest this month.
    Cheers
    Steve
