How to get accepted for credit?
Hi everyone
Was wondering whether someone could give me any advice.
My OH was declined credit tonight for a computer in a major electrical outlet.
He has had credit in the past at the same address. He pays his phone bill, tv license, electricity, virgin media, gym membership all by direct debit.
Has never missed a payment.
He's on the electoral roll
We have just checked his credit score online, there is nothing on there that shouldnt be.
Credit score was 771.
So does that mean that he will never get credit in the future? Or is it only with certain lenders?
It seems to be catch 22. He wants to build up good credit, but doesnt want to get declined again, or have two many credit searches.
Can anyone give any advice?

none of the bills listed form credit agreements that are reportable. get an experian report and check the information not equifax as that isnt as thorough0

credit will be a little hit and miss, i cant get a cap 1 card, but my bank will lend me 15k (i was accepted online and one button pushed would have seen the funds in my account instantly)0

Yes it was an experian report.
It doesnt say much.
It has two things on it.
One is his current account, one is a credit agreement he had for a tv about 6 years ago.
Both show payments were all made on time0 -

possibly turned down because he has too little on his credit report.
Often, they want to see things like CC so they can see that you are handling credit well.0
