I noticed a strange saving today ... Del Monte Fruit cocktail in light syrup 1 "normal size" tin 79p.... 3 "normal size" tins in a cardboard cover 86p! ... but if you buy 3 "small size" tins then its £1.19

    tescos have gone bananas!
Everything has shot up by about 20 to 30% and it has well peed me off. if it wasn't for all the coupons I use I'd shop elsewhere and just use them for the bogofs
Doesn't surprise me selling cakes 92p each or 2 for £2 That's tesco all over!
    Some good offers atm tho

Tesco concentrated colour liquid. ( 20 washes) 2 for £3. This works out less than half the price of persil, and it is good stuff; have used tescos own liquid for years.
Frosties/cocopops half price. (Sugar puffs were too, but may have ended)
their own brand coffee, which again is very nice and I am very fussy about coffee. buy the 200g jar for £1.19. Bizarrely the 300g jar is £1.98. when at £1.20 for 200g, each 100g costs 60p, so a 300g jar costs more!!!! (Wierd or what)
pizza half price £.30 (THis was only £2.04 full price a few months back!)
Tescos own licquorice allsorts 69p for 500g!!!! And NO artificial colours or flavours
Their own brand value biscuits are also fine.

What a shame they dont do bogoff or special offers on the healthy or staple foods like flour, plain rice, plain noodles etc

Apparantly staple foods have very little profit margin in them as they are a 'staple' thats why you see very few offers, so i am told. It makes sense because you can imagine what a high mark up there is on 'junk food'.

They quite often have flour on BOGOF, that's when I stock up. Tesco own brand Basmati Rice is a fraction of the cost of known brands.

Yes... I guess it just annoys me that they promote the items that arnt so good for us...

I used to work as an in store demonstrator....

I wonder what would happen if they plugged a bread maker in and showed you how easy it was to make your own bread.... or did a lesson in cooking shepherds pie with mince and real potatoes

the flour tho, is usually an expensive brand. I make lots of cakes and biscuits and I use the value flour which is fine.
btw flour is actually bad for you. Wheat clogs everything up in our bodies, including our heart and arteries! You'll know so many people have wheat allergies many quite mild so they don't even know. That said wheat is in almost everything. I do avoid all artificial food additives and the awful aspartame, but if I cut flour out, we would hardly eat, plus the diet needs to be balanced, and by cutting out wheat you'd likely end uop eating more protein and sugar which is bad if it's making up more than a small part of your diet so you can't win!

I was pointing out the dangers of artificial clours years ago and everyone thought I was mad. Now though, hardly anything contains them. Did anyone see on the news last night they're going to now ban E110, E102 and E122 in this country. Bout time too. E110 is the yellow bit in the middle of creme eggs!!!! I never let my kids eat those; i buy mars and caramel ones instead

prices have gone up in other shops as well, i heard someone moaning about the price of margarine but the price rise for that is due to price of milk going up
