Property Seminars.

I went to a "free" seminar a while ago, and it was just a means to sell a further 2 day seminar, at the cost of a few thousand pounds. Has anyone ever been to one of these, or are they just a waste of money? Are their claims of creating a property portfolio, "using other peoples' money, just rubbish?

Yes, most probably they are."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0 -
Of course they're rubbish Jim.
Imagine you were rich with a property portfolio. Why would you share your secrets and working model with complete strangers who will take a slice of YOUR pie?
If those running the semminars truly had a get rich easy scheme they would be busy doing that - getting rich rather than bothering to share it with competitors.
How many city stock brokers / merchant bankers / pop stars / Lawyers do you know that hold semminars telling you how to do what they do day to day? NONE.
Its merely praying on simple minded folk, in order to make fees.
You will never make it following on the coat tails of others, you've got to row your own boat in this life.0 -

I did plan on going to one. Just to get the free lunch.
If I find another that's close by and gives a free lunch I'd go to that.
No intention of signing up for anything. It's a mug's game that's past it's sell by date. But a free lunch is always nice to get out of the house for.0 -
My Dad always told me theres no such thing as a free lunch......I thought he was wrong at the time and you have now proved it to me.0

There's the guy recently who bought 31 flats for about £7.5m, now having them all repossessed (his monthly interest was over £30k, his rent half that) and will still personally owe over £3m.
The funniest bit is that he was a property lawyer who also ran these type of get rich quick seminars!I am a Mortgage Adviser
