I asked the CSA for it. The Jobcentre was suggested as somewhere to meet, it was either there or the DSS offices. Apparently there is a team of people who do face to face meetings and who makeblock bookings for your area.
Hope this helps, PM me if you need any more info and good luck!

Defo ask at the meeting whether they contacted the employer and if not why not.

I would be asking you the question why aren't you going to meet the 'nice man'??? Why did you not object when offered the F2F with someone else?

After this meeting which will prove unsatisfactory, then put your foot down and ask to meet him.

I think you need to approach ICE next.

Also ask them to provide you a written summary of the meeting, which will last about an hour and make your own notes too.

    Hi
I was told that I had to have my face to face meeting with someone from Plymouth as that is the office dealing with my case.
I am not pinning any hopes on this to be honest, just another step in the long long journey!

Just an update, had my meeting yesterday, the lady from CSA was lovely actually and listened to me going on for an hour and a half! She wrote down all of my 21 questions, some things she commented on some she didnt, she agreed though that I had received appalling service. She said that my notes and file of letters and emails was "exemplary". I should hear by the end of next week with a summary of the meetinf, then hopefully someone might make some decisions as to where we go from here.

    Hi all

While waiting for answers from my face to face meeting, I just wondered about a couple of points to do with my ex.
    1) The CSA said the bailiffs are unable to get hold of him at his address, what happens now? they have been round a couple of times and get nowhere (either his girlfriend is saying he doesnt live there or nobody is answering the door) Is there a limit to the number of times they will go round? The bailiffs have had the case since Feb 07 when the liabilty order was issued. He is not on any official records of living there but he does, definitely. He wont be on any council tax records or anything else offical though, due to bad debts and hiding from everyone!

    2) CSA have also contacted his employer to be told he doesnt work there... he does as he answered the phone to me there the other day! They said they can do nothing more, if the employer says he doesnt work there then they have to believe them. Can they check if he is claiming benefits, because if he isnt then surely that means he must be working otherwise he is living off fresh air!

The CSA have asked me to supply them with a photo of him, which I am a bit reluctant to do as I feel that I am already doing their job for them. Plus if he found out, goodness knows what would happen. What more can I/they do? If he is determoned to be invisible, I guess he can be? The CSA have also mentioned something about criminal proceedings and that he will be warned if he doesnt reply to certain correspondence, he will be in trouble, but how can they prove he is getting any correspondence if they dont believe me that he lives there!

If you supply a photo he can't deny who he is - they may do an out of hours visit, such as at the weekend or evening to try and catch him in. The CSA staff don't know him, so how will they know if he is telling the truth or not? Give them a chance by supplying information which they really can't be expected to get themselves.

As for the employer, if their suspicions are strong enough they could refer the case to their compliance team for them to visit the employer. What line of work does he work in? Is it in an office? Can you ring him again and record the conversation - whilst in a court of law it wouldn't be accepted as evidence, it may tip over the evidence enough to investigate properly. Personally if I were a CSA officer, I would ring and pretend to be somebody else to get put through to him and write that up as he is non-compliant.

If the bailiffs have had the case for this long, they should return it, the CSA can request it sent back so that they can consider the next action.

Push for the employer visit though - they don't have to accept their word.

Just to update on my current situation. My face to face meeting, in which I brought up over 20 questions I wanted answers to from the CSA going back to when I started dealing with them in 1993 , was 11 weeks ago now and I still havent had those answers, there's a surprise! I chased them after a few weeks and was talked through some of my queries, the rest the lady didnt have the answers to but promised she would find out and come back to me a week later. That was 6 weeks ago and I have heard nothing. Chased to a higher member of staff at the beginning of June, was told I would have a reply from him by 25th June as to why it is taking so long. That will make it 12 weeks since the meeting, absolutely ridiculous as I would told it would take 2-3 weeks to get a full reply. Of course I will be complaining about this, no doubt it wont speed anything up. I am now looking at contacting the ICE.

With regard to the ongoing case of the CSA trying to track down my ex and get some of the £31k arrears off him, apparently the case is now with Criminal Compliance so they are unable to tell me anything about what is going on. The only thing they would tell me is that they have written to him recorded delivery but he hasnt signed for it yet, well I dont think he will somehow, he has never acknowledged anything the CSA have sent him in the last 15 years so I doubt he is going to start now! My ex has moved house temporarily to another part of the country for 3 months with his job, so have given them the details of his new address and where he is working, unfortunately this is only a 3 month contract and I would imagine by the time they have decided to get in touch with him, he will have moved back again. His current assessment is still 0.00 and the CSA have confirmed they know he isnt claiming benefits, so have said they are "puzzled as to how is he living" Umm.... that could be because he is working!
