FREE Health Card

Dont know if this has been posted before but it maybe of use to the growing numbers of travellers who have joined this site :)

A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) entitles you to reduced-cost, sometimes free, medical treatment that becomes necessary while you're in a European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland.
The EEA consists of the European Union (EU) countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Switzerland applies the EHIC arrangements through an agreement with the EU. The EHIC is valid in:


Austria
Belgium
Bulgaria
Cyprus (but not Northern Cyprus)
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Latvia
Liechtenstein
Lithuania
Luxembourg

Romania
Slovakia

    Yep thats the one.

    It doesnt replace travel insurance but its fine for just medical expenses.

    See article on main site for Travel Insurance, I got 12 months to Europe (31 days out of country) for £23/24. Started in Sept and already got money's worth as visited friends on Continent twice. Easy Jet wanted £12 per trip.

    Can't wait to use again in July! That trip will be effectively FREE!!!!!:j
    (insurance wise anyway)
