Removing name from mortgage

My Father died recently, and his name was on the mortgage with my mother and my brother so 3 in all. We were wondering how we would fair out with my dad's name being removed. House is worth approx 250k Would their be any charges?

Hello,
Just giving my experience but My Dh died recently and as the mortgage was in joint name with me ,I showed them the death certificate and everything has now been transferred to me .
Not sure if that would work with a 3rd person involved but mine was straightforward and apparently the deeeds are being altered now .
Only thing I will say is,check the will and get a new updated one made.
BTW no charge has been made.

There should be no charge, as explained above, and there may be some checks to see if the mortgage payments can still be met, but not always, due to the sensitivity of the situation.

I would wait and see, the lender will come to you after you have informed them and they have seen a copy of the death certificate. They may have different procedures than I am used to.
