    Hi

I totally get where you are coming from, I used to work for a QUANGO and my goodness; what a shambles.

However, theoretically; if you disrespect your manager, then it infers that their manager isn't doing their job; which means you are disrespecting THEIR manager and so on up to the top; in these sorts of institutions - the incompetence is usually at all levels; and most people who do have an ounce of interest in changing things are well aware of the situation, but the set up prevents doing anything about it.

They probably want to keep an eye on you because you are the sharpest tool there!!!

Do you know the organisation and it's chief well enough to know at which level to pitch the reasons that you are going?

The only reasons that you would have not to spill the beans would be if working there would look good on your CV; and it would be good to have a reference from there; or if there is any chance that you might need them another time to assist your career.

If neither of these counts; then go for it - but it's a small world and sometimes you just have to leave people to get on with what they think it right - even if it is so wrong!

By the way - you don't actually have to say you ever enjoyed it - sometimes just a 'I am tendering my resignation and my last working day will be X ending the x days leave that I have outstanding' will do.

hmm... it is a shambles, my manager is not an expert in their own field, never mind mine, and she is being advised by another colleague, who has input because she put together the strategy I am working under.

The colleague who wr0te the strategy is not qualified or experienced in the field she wrote the strategy in, so I think it was doomed to run unto problems. (In fact her qualifications are in an entirely different field!)

No, its not a organisation I would get any brownie points for having worked for, in fact it is the lowest 'status' of all my work, but I was keen to do it to keep my experience as a practitioner up, and perhaps to do something useful, which now seems very unlikely! I am frustrated as I am used to working autonomously and managing teams. Whils I am happy not to do any management, I am frustrated by being managed by someone who is struggling, and yet is imposing such limitations that I cannot do myjob.

s0d it, I am meeting with them tomorrow and they are going to get the letter, with my reasons why (unless some drastic changes happen in the meeting) I cannot, in all integrity leave without explaining why, and I want to put it on record that I am leaving because they are making it impossible for me to do the job I was appointed to do, and not because I am !!!!less!
  • hahaha the swear checker wont let me write f e c k less!! It isn't swearing, honest!
