I had milk fresh from the cow when I was little when I stayed at farm in Wales. Didn't do any harm to me! And it tasted great!

Skimmed Milk   Its not milk its flavored water :rotfl:

I went to Gernsey a few years ago and had fresh milk everyday for 2 weeks, I love gold top and this was the best ive ever tasted.
Ive really been craveing dairy the last few weeks, cheese, milk, yogort, ice cream you name it! (Now is it Dairy for a girl or boy :rotfl: ............... Only kidding)

If the cow looks healthy and the guy who milks/drinks it looks fine why not try it? Maybe get some upset tummy tablets in as caution. Let us know anyway :D
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:

I'm in London, but have a place in Bulgaria. God the food is great there! I can't eat strawberries and cherries at home anymore and that's just the start. Our organic produce here doesn'r come close to what they get there. I've been spoilt now for ever :)

I grew up next door to a small holding and all our milk was straight from the cow! Its never done me any harm and even now when I pop home I always come back with a bottle of milk, homemade butter and a jar of fresh cream! YUMMY YUMMY! Its a heinz 57 herd but there are a few Jersey and Guernsey cows and it is very creamy milk and cream!
(Try Marks and Spencer Channel Island thick cream - very similar taste!)
  • Lol. This is one of the most amusing things I have read in a while, bring brought up on a dairy farm. Can't believe you are even questioning this.

mmm.. that food is organic, perhaps I should get some others from tescos with some nice chemicals all over it!

    Lol.

Sorry Timchild, but I wish to query why you think that the milk is organic - straight from the cow doesn't mean it is organic, it just means it hasn't been processed. There's nothing to say what the cow has been fed on, and if her feed was organic.

I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle

I was brought (dragged?) up on a dairy farm. We always had milk from the refrigerated tank - never did me any harm either, but always had to try and be up early enough to take the churn round and get the milk in before my dad did - if he got there first, he would didn't dunk the churn in, he would skim the churn through the top layer - when you poured the milk on your cornflakes, it just sat there urghh! and tea/coffee was awful way to creamy. However, the herd was always regularly tested, don't know what country you are refering to and whether they are as stringent in their testing.
    I'm a semi-skimmed girl now.
  • We have a house in France (well parents do and is a fab cheap holiday) and the local farmer sells fresh cows milk. We cycle round at milking time and watch the cows being milked its warm and tastes creamy and lovely and you even know the cow its come from. Its not recomended for pregnant ladies as its not been past your eyes (doesnt seem to stop the locals though!)
  • I am jealous everytime time i read about your little corner of Bulgaria, Lilac Lillie. What area is it in ? I wonder how much longer I'll need to be OS before I can join you !
