Advice needed
I've recently received many phonecalls from the collections dept at my bank telling me that my loan is in arears when I know that it is not. The problem was resolved - with an apology and acceptance by the bank that it was due to human error when my loan was initially set up.
However, in total I received approx 25 calls to tell me I was in arrears both while I was at work and into the evenings, with someone on about the 15th accepting that there was an error on the bank's part - but the calls continued. Dispite me telling the 2nd caller that I only wanted to be called on my mobile numerous calls were made to my home telephone number from the collections dept of the bank- much to the concern of my parents (to whom the bank did not disclose the details but the fact that I 'urgently need to contact the collections dept regarding my loan') who, in spite of my assurances that I was not in arrears, could not help but be concerned - causing a lot friction at home.
In conclusion, the bank have now apologised and given me leaflet with details of my options should I wish to complain further. Is there any point in doing this or is an apology the best that I am likely to get??
