Any idea if putting the cream in a bread machine would beat it enough on a mix only setting?
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

I know friends who when they do to the Doctors and need to pay for a prescription, they ask thier Doctor to print out the prescription in one of their children names, thus to avoid paying the fees at the chemist. I dont have the balls to do this, but it works for my friends.
Is this not asking someone to commit fraud ?
Also many medicine prescriptions for adults would not be suitable for children so would any chemist reading it properly not realise ?
Also is there not something added to the notes about a medicine being prescribed.
Sounds very very dodgy to me!

I got a Dairy Diary for Christmas! Very good it is too.

Indoors Outdoors - wasn't that the one with Zena Skinner. I used to catch it cos it was on before Swap Shop. Or am I getting mixed up.
Hi yes that was the one. It was a brilliant programme full of making ends meet tips, [there was a recession on] funny things have not changed.
If anyone from the beeb is lurking then they could do a lot worse than re-invent Indoors Outdoors, I seem to remember that it started a whole old wheel/tyre garden pot revolution, [not at chez nannaC's however as I cut my tyre in the wrong place and got a very funny looking pot. I also have three big craft books from that era so will go through them and post any good tips.
On the make do and mend theme. You can make pillowcases out of the good parts of worn cotton sheets, other bits are good for cushion/lavender bag inners. Jumble sales are fantastic places for good cotton items such as shirts, skirts, curtains, I use these to basket liners, cushions, laundry/peg bags, the scraps make patchwork quilts. Old denim also makes fabulous patchwork chair covers

I can remember my Nan doing what she called "turning sheets edges to middle" - basically cutting it down the middle and then sewing it back together again with the two outer edges forming a seam down the middle. hem the two other (worn thin) edges and hey presto. Not sure I could be bothered with that though!

Aw, hope they do repeat that programme you're talking about Windows--I love things like that! I was hooked on Change That & House Invaders, altho they did get to be a bit weird towards the end, even for me!:o It was also very surprising that they had so much appropriate stuff stashed in an available shed too....if they'dve come here it would have taken a month to go thru the loft:rotfl:

There was another one that started on BBC1 to try & rival Richard & Judy----had all manner of hints & tips for all areas of life & sooo much better than the ITV version cuz they didn't have so many celebrities on there to waffle about latest releases.

I recently got a load of MOC SIZE=1]money off coupons[/SIZE][/COLOR][/FONT][FONT=Trebuchet MS][COLOR=seagreen for a national daily paper thru the post & until yesterday duely used them only when I bought the paper. Then  & I tried some I had left in my purse at MrT & she took them:j So my tips for today are: Don't be frightened to offer any coupon, &, just cuz one cashier says no, doesn't mean they all will!

After following another thread on supermarket plastic carriers have decided to use some of the curtaining to make shopping bags [1960's style tote bags], or for fans of Miss Reid like Mrs Pringles black oilcloth bag. Havn't made one of these for years as my three wicker baskets are still going strong but will let you all know how they turn out.

Bumping this thread up so newbies can find it. A few new people have started threads on DFW and have been referred over here.

When cooking something in a pot always use a lid (it'll cook faster as the heat isn't eascaping) and always use the correct size of pot for the gas or electric ring on the cooker. If the ring or flame is bigger than the base of the pot you're wasting energy and thats money!
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

Dont want this great thread to disapear:D

To keep more tender plants from blowing in the wind (I live up top of Scotland where we get a lot of it:mad: )I used an up-turned large pallet (free of course!)that had legs on, wrapped some heavy duty plastic (that hubs had squirreled away)around it and put in plants to get them going. I have even got a pumpkin growing, which is a bit of an experiment. You could also use an old upturned table. I am really pleased with the results. Now somehow I would like to construct a lid so that I start growing things earlier on next year.
