    Thanks for the advice!

    Just in reply to the post above. I have 4 children,one under 1, so that is why i get a bit more i think. Only dh works,I do not work,cant afford childcare for 4 children. Rent per month is £825.

    Because the tax credits people didnt update information i provided i owe £1900,which gets taken out of my yearly award,reducing my tax credits dramatically,which i think has an inpact on the amount of housing benefit too.

    hi, its easy to chek these things on www.entitledto.co.uk with just a few
    facts.

    ive just entered the following.

    family with 4 children
    25 k income
    825 rent


    results were tax credits £91 pw
    housing benefit £81 pw

    blimey i earn less than that as single parent...2 children... and get no HB towards my rent
    some area may differ

    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    HB has been replaced by LHA, so the figures may well change. Its now all based on average rents in each housing area. You get an amount based on how many bedrooms you are entitled to for your family size.
