Polaroid wedding guest albums

Hi everyone
I have seen a site that makes wedding albums where you can put polaroid pictures into them and guests can add a message too http://www.instantforever.com/polaroid_guest_albums.html however, they are quite expensive (45 basic) and then when you add the price of a camera and film on top it works out quite a lot. But I really like the idea of guests taking a picture and adding a message.
Does anyone know any cheaper suppliers or have alternative ideas? Thank you.

I wanted to do this too, but couldn't work out a cheap way of doing it. Am thinking about having a 'Wedding Wishes Tree' instead...

Think it should be pretty easy (and cheap) to do myself. Plus then could put the tags in an album along with a collection of photos x0 -

The tree idea is gorgeous! If you didnt want a tree you could have something similar like a post box? Then you could put all the cards into like a scrapbook?
Maybe ask an usher / bridesmaid / friend to be in charge of a camera and there instructions are to get photos of everyone who attends. They could also take the basket of notes around. Then match them up. For example if they take a photo of your aunt, uncle and cousin then they make sure the note is from the 3 of them. If this makes sense....Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
i've just made a guest book, which i am leaving space for photo's and i'm going to get someone responsible to make sure there's photo's of everyone there so i can match them up to the messages later and add them, i was just planning on working with a digital camera0

At a friend's wedding, she had two friends assigned to this task... They went around with a digital camera and a list of the guests names... They took a photo of each guest (or else each couple) and gave them a little card on which to write their message. On the back, they noted what number on the camera their photo was. I don't know exactly how it was all done and presented at the end, but I do remember thinking it was a great idea.0

I've been thinking about this all weekend and I might just get the camera and film, surely I could get them quite cheap off ebay or something? And then just get a normal album/scrap book and stick the pictures in. I could get some of the craft sticky dots or something. I just think it would be such a nice idea to have pics of everyone on the day. I also think I might put my dad in charge of getting the pics as he doesn't drink and would be great at doing it :money:0

I would definitely use digital cameras if possible, or disposable cameras - anything, really, in preference to Polaroid pictures, as these fade.
At my wedding we asked guests to bring cameras and take snaps of the day, and send us copies. Worked well!!! (Perhaps we just had exceptionally generous friends - actually we did, as our cooks (unpaid friends) brought friends of theirs to help, one of whom was a professional photographer and presented us with a disk of over 200 stunning pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:j:)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I heard of someone who asked everyone with a digital camera to take their own photos of the wedding and reception and then to submit their memory card/stick after the wedding and I think it was the groom who was going to pick out the best and put them onto a cd and let all the guests at the wedding have a copy of the cd.
I don't think they were having an official photographer and this seems a very money saving way for all the guests to have a nice memory of the day.0 -
cross posted with jobbingmusician with a similar idea0
