boots had some nice royal jelly handbags...dark blue, quite mumsy [depends on her age] and filled with royal jelly products. was in the sale section, no price as per usual, but guess it would be under 15 pounds...

like the idea of magazine subscription...my mother in law would love 'good food' subscription

perhaps voucher for a manicure at nice salon, these are usually under 20 quid
  • If you can find some nice photo's of you, her, family etc, and get copies done and put into a nice frame - mum's often appreciate personal stuff like that.

Whatver else you buy, why not include a lottery ticket in her card - pick significant numbers for her like birthdates, house numbers etc....you never know she may get lucky!

We run monthly raffles at an organisation I volunteer for, and always include a lottery ticket as a prize - it is always a popular choice!

(I don't do the lottery regularly myself - just very occasionally when the mood takes me!)

    Happy Birthday to your mum!

  • My MIL's 50th birthday in October. My daughter's idea, which we are doing, is decorate a plain box (A shoebox or similar) then fill it with small presents all individually wrapped. As it's her Grandma's 50th we are doing 50 presents & so far we have things like candle, magnet, keyring, mug, champagne style flute, CD's, badges, nice smellies,

Chepeast thing were badges 33p each from Clintons (Fab sale on in there at the moment!)
Most expensive was Cd's at around £2 from eBay!

I did a similar thing for my mum one year, only it was a makeup up bag with individually wrapped items of makeup inside. She was thrilled to bits with it.

  • TK Maxx have a lot of half price Elizabeth Arden products - my mum loves the stuff - just check her skin: normal, dry, oily etc - they have the sets and the perfumes.
They also have lots of bath stuff, including Peckersniffs - which are gorgeous and natural products such as Green Tea, Cocoa butter etc - all half price or less.....
And you cant go too wrong with a nice silk scarf
