I'm emigrating in April, and will really miss this site. Anyone know of an equivalent site over to cover Australian money saving ideas?

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this! :D
I am hoping to have a visitor from Queensland, Australia, at some stage next year, and hopefully I will also be moving to Australia (as this person is the woman I want to marry).
I fear there may not be a money saving expert site for Australia - simply because Australia isn't a country where everything is out to get you.
You get much more for your money there than over here, so there is less of a need for it.0 -
I've been watching this thread too as my mum lives in Aussieland and I'm always telling her about this site, so I did a search on google for a similar site and thought I'd found one, I was so chuffed. However, you had to PAY to join!!!!
There were a few FREE tips but it wasn't that good.
You're right Bouncy, things are much cheaper in Oz but then a lot of it is relative I guess (with salaries etc). Housing is good though and loads cheaper.Shanni0 -

Hiya, I'm moving to Oz and wondered if there are any updates on Money saving websites in Australia. Specifically (initially) looking at credit card comparisons, insurance and banking.

Hey allWell i am an Aussie and live in Qld and apart from simplysavings which you have to pay to be a member of have not found anything like MSE.At the same time i do not think we have as many issues in regards to lending that you have in the UK. We have 40 acres outside of Brisbane on mortgage with one of our Big 4 banks and rates on the whole are very similar across the board. A little here and there but thats it. Most mortgages are either variable or fixed and pay off the whole loan including the principal here.I am about to return to work after 18 months at home after a major health issue so have been following tips and advice here anyway for things i know i can do here.If anyone wants to chat would love to have contact. And i am BC obsessed as i own breed show and trial Border Collies.0
