    Hi Batgirl

So sorry to hear your news.

Something similar happened to us, we had nearly paid off mortgage, and daughter had left home - several bills halved, and we were looking at buying a new car with the ex-mortgage money, working on the idea that what we hadn't had we wouldn't miss!
    Then I got made redundant!!!
At first it was panic stations, then we took time out and looked at the situation calmly, and worked out if we tightened our belts a little we could manage on the one salary. Two months down the line we are both very happy with the decision, I'm not anything like as tired and have time to do things, husband is happy because I now have more time for him, and am not so liable to say no.
I know this isn't the answer for everyone, it's only recently we've reached this point ourselves, but what I'm trying to say is, take time out and maybe do few sums, sometimes it's not as bad as you first thought.
    Sending you hugs ()()()

Pandora thats fab that you are feeling so positive, I think you acheive so much more when you feel positive, rather than dragging yourself qround. i could do with a bit of PMA just so I get all the jobs I have promised myself I would get done while I had 2 weeks off, because it will be cack to have to do it when back at work. I also got a phonecall yesterday saying I will have my hours cut back which I really can't afford to do as my wage was going to pay for a new kitchen. Will find out for sure on Monday but my hours might be halved :eek::eek:. Send some happiness my way please :D

batgirl, hopefully this will make you smile, even if only a bit

Did OH employer's put it in writing re salary matching? I've heard this thing before, maybe OH and yourself need to weigh up how much you really enjoy your jobs and look for another.

I'm working for an organisation that's going to cease to exist within a year, I'm looking for another job to avoid being made redundant for the 2nd time in a year (just been made redundant before I got this job)

My OH says "get a job you love and you'll never work again" and whilst I agreed with him, I do think that has to be a job with the right pay.....no point being happy at work if at home you're skint and unhappy

    Good luck:D

    Thanks Miss G :D

Mood is slowly being deflated though :(
Think I ate something dodgy last nite as I'm now sick as a dog and have posted a new thread with a problem and not had any replies and only 16 people have even looked at it. Now it's about to disappear off the first page so then nobody will see it :(

Don't suppose any of you lovely people want to go read it and see if you can help at all?? I have no idea how to put a link I'm afraid, but it's called Powergen/E:On Debt and it's by me (obviously)

I know I've gone off topic again but I need help!! :rotfl:

Would love to join in this month please. Think I joined the one for March and the grocery challenge too for February and March but my head's been in a total spin and I totally lost it. Blew it infact . Would dearly love to be organised and in control but it seems to be a skill that evades me.

Stick me down for £ 10 a day and I'll keep my fingers crossed that I make it coz money for me is tighter than a ducks' a.....e !

Have a few items listed on Ebay which are due to finish this weekend and so far 5 will sell so I'll have a few quid there.
