The bottom two tiers are really like any other wedding cake, usually the bottom tier is fruit cake, with plastic dowels and pillars supporting the second tier which will either be fruit cake or a heavier sponge like madeira. The third tier which again will either be sponge or fruit cake still uses the pillar and dowel method its just that the cake has been tilted and supported on a third support of an action figure, It could be done reasonably easily,.

a novice to cake making could buy ready made iced cakes , there are tutorials on the net at lots of sites on how to pillar and dowel wedding cakes, and even more on how to make the cakes from scratch.. There are also novelty bride and groom figures available like the one used-check out wilton cake decorations range.Any good cake decorating supplier will have most of the stuff you need.

ps check out some of the ideas on the weddings and special occasions threads on here-people have made fabulous cakes at a fraction of shop costs-oh and for the action figures suggest toy or model shops/suppliers
